The President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas addressed the Greek Parliament on Tuesday morning, as part of his two-day official visit.

The Greek Parliament unanimously approved the decision of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Affairs and Defense, which has called the Greek government to push forward the necessary procedures to recognize the Palestinian State. Parliament also called for peace talks to resume.

Earlier on Monday Mr. Abbas met with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and President Prokopis Pavlopoulos. At noon Mr. Abbas is scheduled to meet with the Archbishop of Greece Ieronymos, thus concluding his official meetings in Greece.
