The Minister of National Defense Panos Kammenos underlined the importance of intelligence exchange between the European Union and NATO, upon arrival at the EU Foreign Affairs Council on defense policy in Brussels.

Today we are all French” he told journalists and stressed that the “EU Defense Ministers should take a decision because we have a new situation in Europe. It is September 11 for Europe. We must all assume our responsibilities”. Mr. Kammenos argued that NATO involvement should focus on information exchange.

When asked about border protection, Mr. Kammenos responded that “the borders between Greece and Turkey are the Aegean Sea. Border control by the Defense Ministry means killing children. This is impossible”.
