A gas canister exploded at a café in Loutro near Amphilochia at about 10:45 on Wednesday morning, injuring sixteen people, four of whom have suffered serious injuries.
The injured people have been rushed to the local hospitals in Amphilochia and Agrinio. Most of the injuries were caused by broken windows and aluminum debris.
The gas canister appears to have been used for heating lamp, however the cause of the explosion has not yet been determined.
