After being elected MEP with the Olive Tree, Nikos Androulakis told Ta Nea that he intends to remain PASOK’s secretary “at least until the Conference in October”.

Mr. Androulakis is thought to have made the announcement in order to reassure party officers that the party will not be without a second-in-command at the upcoming Conference, which will be critical for the party’s future.

On Monday the government partner’s secretary told Vima 99.5 FM that “the Center Left is not pantyhose, for one to pull on one side, another on the other side with the end result being a mess that leads to a neoliberal agenda”.

Mr. Androulakis also noted that his party must develop ties with DIMAR and highlighted the importance of the party overcoming its recent crisis.
