The 104th anniversary of the farmer uprising of Kileler took place on Sunday, with farmers from all over the country braving the harsh weather conditions and congregating to celebrate at the monument erected for the victims of the uprising.

The farmers confirmed their intention to continue their struggle, claiming that the coalition government’s taxation policies are having a significant impact on their sector’s survival.

The central speaker at the celebration, president of the federation of Larisa farmer unions Rizos Maroudas warned the government of a new “Kileler” occurring, should the government not revise its policies.
