The President of SYRIZA Alexis Tsipras hosted a workshop in Athens with the participation of the European Left party, where he announced that when elected, his party will not accept any of the current government’s election campaign agreements with the troika.

Mr. Tsipras welcomed the participants to “election campaign Greece” and stressed that the New Democracy/PASOK coalition government is not legitimized to make a new agreement with the country’s creditors that could possibly bind the Greek people for decades to come. The two-day workshop, which began today and concludes on Friday, is focused on the financial crisis and its impact.

The event is an initiative of SYRIZA’s MEP Nikos Hountis and the European Left. The event will see the participation of European Left MEPs from Germany, France, Cyprus, Spain and Portugal, as well as academics and other politicians.
