Despite good intentions, teaching at the University of Athens and the National Technical School of Athens did not resume. The nationwide federation of administrative employees has called for another five-day strike, for the tenth consecutive week.

With the administrative employees appearing determined to continue their strike during the 40th celebration of the Athens Polytechnic uprising, the university administrations are unable to react. The striking administrative employees, who are controversially facing sudden dismissal, are holding general assemblies at noon today to re-evaluate their strike.

The main gate at the NTUA, where teaching was scheduled to resume on Tuesday and Wednesday, was occupied between 8am and 9.30am, without incident. An administrative employee at the NTUA claimed that the semester would be not be lost, if teaching resumed next week and there were no breaks for holidays. That way, the 36 weeks of teaching over two semesters could take place without any further problems.
