The teacher union federation OLME has decided to launch a lawsuit against everyone responsible for a list of suspensions that was publicized on the 12th of July, before the relevant law authorizing the suspensions was even discussed in Parliament, much less voted upon.

The federation has renounced the publication of the “list of shame”, which revealed personal data of about 2,500 teachers. OLME considers the Minister of Education Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos, the Ministry of Education’s general secretary Athanasios Kyriazis and the deputy supervisor of the Ministry’s General Directorate Evdokia Kardamitsi responsible.

In response to the Ministry of Finances’ bill, which formalized the suspension of 2,500 teachers, being passed in Parliament, OLME has called a demonstration outside its offices at noon on Monday the 22nd of July.

OLME also calls all sectors that are in a state of mobilization and all other federations in the public and private sector to attend a meeting at their offices on Wednesday “to organize the common struggle against suspensions – dismissals and the overall politics of the government – troika”.
