The European Commission has declared that the reduced tickets for the casinos in Parnitha, Kerkyra and Thessaloniki are a form of government subsidy and as such has referred Greece to the European Courts.

This development was in response to the complaint filed by the management of the casino in Loutraki, which considers the reduced ticket to the other casinos to be unfair competition.

The Ministry of Finances is currently negotiating the matter, in hopes of avoiding a conviction in trial, which will likely further burden the Greek budget.
