According to the police, a 23-year-old man is responsible for the homicide of a 56-year-old man and 54-year-old woman in Aliveri of Evia. The couple was found dead in their home on Saturday night.

The 23-year-old had occasionally worked as a gardener at the victims’ house and his motive appears to have been theft, as a small sum of money and valuables were missing. Six more Pakistanis have been arrested for harboring a criminal.

On Saturday night the couple’s daughter contacted the Aliveri Police Department because she was worried about her parents not responding to her phone calls. Police officers who visited the couple’s home notice that the main entrances were locked and after jumping over the back-yard stone wall, discovered the bodies of the two victims.

Both had suffered injuries to the head, while the 56-year-old man had also been attacked with a sharp object to the throat. The Halkida Police Department and Crime Investigation Bureau of the Evia Police Directorate were called to investigate the scene.
