Supreme Court prosecutor Ioannis Tentes is expected to submit his resignation within the day in order to be appointed as “national coordinator against corruption”, after accepting the government offer.

Mr. Tentes was going to depart from the prosecution on the 30th of June this year due to retirement. His position in the Supreme Court will be temporarily filled in by Efterpi Koutsamani, who is the most senior Supreme Court vice-prosecutor.

According to the “Kastanidis law”, the presidents of Parliament will make their suggestions to the Minister of Justice, who will then make a proposal at the ministerial council that will ultimate decide on Mr. Tentes replacement.
