Farmers from all over Greece are planning on attending a rally scheduled for Wednesday morning on Syntagma Square in Athens, in order to demonstrate against taxation and the imminent pension system reform.

The rally has been scheduled for 11am at Syntagma Square outside Parliament, with a farmer delegation also intending to submit a resolution to the Ministry of Finances and Parliament.

According to the coordinator of the farmer initiative Thodoris Papakonstantinou there will be “over 40 busses” from central and western Macedonia heading to Athens on Wednesday, along with many more from Epirus, Thesprotia, Peloponnesus and Crete.

The nationwide federation of open-air market farmers will also participate in the rally.
