MPs to take oath on Saturday – Policy statements on Monday

The 300 members of Parliament who were elected on the 20^th September elections, are set to take their oath on Saturday, the 3^rd of October, with the election for a new President of Parliament scheduled for 11am on Sunday.

Following the secret vote for a new President of Parliament, voting will take place for the other positions in Parliament. Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has reportedly proposed former minister Nikos Voutsis for the position and Tasos Kourakis for first Vice President. New Democracy is likely to propose Nikitas Kaklamanis for the position of Vice President.

The coalition government will begin making its policy statements on Monday, 5^th of October, with the vote of confidence expected to take place at midnight on Wednesday, the 7^th of October.
