The Eurogroup chief and Dutch Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem estimated that the fundamental differences between Greece and it creditors will be difficult to bridge.

Furthermore, the Eurogroup president noted that a ‘no’ vote on Sunday will not strengthen Greece’s negotiating positing, but rather it will put Greece and Europe in a difficult position. On the contrary, he claimed that a ‘yes’ vote in Sunday’s referendum would offer better prospects in resuming talks.

According to the Eurogroup chief Sunday’s critical referendum in Greece is whether the Greek people are willing to accept painful austerity measures and added that the Greek side effectively «tore up» the proposal from the institutions.
