Τhe German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s visit to the Greek capital on Friday has prompted the opposition and other parties of the left to arrange demonstrations. The Police has deployed about 5,000-6,000 officers for security purposes, in light of Thursday’s car bomb.
Mrs. Merkel is scheduled to appear with PM Samaras at a business forum at 15:15, followed by a meeting with representatives of SMEs and institutions at 16:20. The German Chancellor will head to the PM’s office at 17:30 for the official meeting with the Prime Minister, followed by a press conference for the media.
The Police Director of Attica announced that during the German Chancellor’s visit in the capital, outdoor gatherings, demonstrations and marches will be banned between 11:30 and 21:30. Additionally, the Metro stations of Evangelismos an Megaro Mousikis will shut down at 13:30, while the stations of Syntagma and Acropolis will close at 18:00.
