An explosion took place outside the home of a well-known businessman in the Athens suburb of Penteli on Wednesday evening. Following the explosion, the Police cordoned off the area, while the bomb squad began sweeping the area.
It appears that a stick of dynamite was used in the late-night bomb attack, which caused damages near the kitchen of the house. The house was mostly empty during the attack, since the businessman is currently on Myconos, where he operates a well-known club in Psarrou.
As such, Police suspect that the attack was related to the operation of the club in Myconos and could be part of an extortion attempt. Initial reports suggest that the businessman in question had not complained to any associates over threats.
