The Greek statistics authority ELSTAT has published its latest seasonally adjusted divs on employment for April 2016 and found that the rated dropped to 23.3%, from 23.7% in March 2016 and 25.3% in April 2015.
ELSTAT’s survey shows that the number of employed amounted to 3,676,880 persons, the unemployed to 1,115,443 persons and the inactive (persons that have neither worked neither looked for a job) to 3,262,493 persons.
The employed increased by 106,854 compared to April 2015 (+3.0%) and by 25,600 compared to March 2016 (+0.7%). The unemployed decreased by 90,955 (-7.5%) compared to April 2015 and by 20,951 compared to March 2016 (-1.8%). The number of inactive persons decreased by 55,686 persons (-1.7%) compared to April 2015, and by 8,069 persons compared to March 2016 (-0.2%).
