A survey conducted by Public Issue for the Avgi daily newspaper shows that 59% of Greek people do not want the government to give in to the pressure of the creditors, while 37% – primarily New Democracy, PASOK and The River voters – appear to be more conciliatory.

Meanwhile, the survey also shows that about 46% of respondents are concerned that their financial situation will grow worse, 39% believe that it remain the same and just 15% believes that there will be an improvement. About 55% are also not convinced that the bank deposits are secure.

As for the progress of the national economy, 48% of the people fear that it will get worse, compared to 25% who argue that there will be an improvement and 27% who believe that the economy will be more or less the same. The overwhelming majority of respondents also oppose the prospect of snap elections.

Finally, the majority of respondents consider the media to have adopted a hostile stance towards the government (49%), while 20% believe the media has adopted a neutral stance and 28% considers it to be friendly. About 4% had no opinion.
