The government’s settlement for debts towards the State in up to 100 installments has come into effect, with the electronic platform going online on Friday. The latest edition of the Government Gazette confirms this significant development, which is expected to please debtors.
Taxpayers who accessed the TAXISnet on Monday morning though found that the government’s settlement was now applicable to all debts, include debts that had already been settled, meaning that debtors can renew their settlement on more beneficial terms (lower interest rate and more installments).
Sources from the Ministry of Finances have revealed that about 13,000 debtors did not wait for the Government Gazette’s announcement and went through with the “100 installment” settlement.
