The president of the “Agios Kosmas” youth center has been arrested on charges of corruption and embezzlement. Prosecutor Angeliki Triantafyllou has pressed charges for systematically embezzling funds in excess of 150,000 euros and money laundry.
The charges were brought against the youth center president at the request of Deputy Minister of Culture Yannis Andrianos, who alleged that the president has embezzled thousands of euros. An immediate preliminary investigating was launched promptly.
Sources have reported that so far the investigation has shown that the president embezzled at least 800,000 euros in the past year since his appointment at the helm of the youth center.
