The National Observatory of Athens will be open tonight to the public offering a guided tour of the night sky, as part of the “Explorer Night 2014” events.

Visitors will be able to climb the Hill of the Nymphs, where the Observatory is located, where staff members will offer guided tours of the visible constellations and planets.

Aside from the Observatory’s “Doridis” telescope which will be available, the Hellenic Astronomical Association has provided mobile telescopes for visitors to explore the night sky.

The tours will begin at 10pm and visitors are asked to travel to the Observatory only via public transport.
