After meeting with the Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis, the nationwide association of pharmacists has warned that it will go on an indefinite strike, unless an acceptable solution is agreed upon for the sale of non-prescription medication outside pharmacies. The pharmacists have called a 48-hour “warning” strike for Friday the 14th of March and Monday the 17th of March.

The pharmacists have arranged to meet again on Monday, in order to decide upon the continuation of their strike. The pharmacist association’s president Kyriakos Theodosiadis urged his colleagues to be reserved in their estimations, despite the optimism that the Ministry would cave in to their demands.

On the other hand, the Minister of Health recognized the pharmacist demands and expressed his optimism that the proposals would be accepted by the troika.
