The Ministry of Labor has decided to make the unemployment benefit available to greater number of freelance professionals and employees who have made arrangements for their insurance contribution debts.
The Labor Minister Yannis Vroutsis explained in his announcement that the freelance professional sector had been especially vulnerable to the crisis and lacked any real social security.
Mr. Vroutsis noted that the expansion of the benefit was a demand of thousands and will provide a complete and effective safety net for freelance professionals and the self-employed.
