A bomb went off in the courthouse of Corinth earlier this morning at about 7.13am. The police reported that the explosive device as probably located outside the second examiner’s office.

The explosion took place around the time the first courthouse employee was entering the building, so no injuries were reported. The explosion caused a fire which damaged the examiner’s office.

The Fire Brigade was called out to extinguish the fire and the police recovered a metallic box, which is thought to have contained the explosive device.

A forensic investigation team has been dispatched to Corinth to carry out an investigation.
