The process for the privatization of the plot of the former airport in Elliniko is reaching completion, as the deadline for the submission of offers approaches. Privatization fund TAIPED is expected to approve the sale of the plot, which will the be ratified by the Ministerial Council.

After the Qatari investors withdrew from the process, three parties have submitted a binding offer; London & Regional Properties from Great Britain, Elbit from Israel and Lamda Development of the Latsis Group.

The government expects to collect 5 to 8 million euros from the privatization and development of the Elliniko plot and estimates that the privatization will result in the creation of 8,000 to 10,000 new jobs.
