The leader of DIMAR Fotis Kouvelis gave an interview to Action24 which will be broadcast later in the evening, where he addressed the recent tension between SYRIZA and PASOK as well as the possibility of forming new alliances.

The DIMAR leader rejected Evangelos Venizelos’ accusations that the opposition leader Alexis Tsipras encouraged government MPs to “defect” by voting against bills they do not agree with. In the interview, Mr. Kouvelis explained that Mr. Tsipras statement was a political move and “in no case an apostasy”.

When asked about the possibility of DIMAR participating in a Leftist government, Mr. Kouvelis noted that coalition governments are necessary, so long as the alliance is substantial and it has an effect on the policies to be pursued. When asked if he would consider such a proposition, Mr. Kouvelis replied “absolutely”.
