With the strike of university administrative employees continuing for the eighth consecutive week, the Rector of the University of Athens Theodosis Pelegrinis clarified that he has requested from the relevant university services to dock the wages of striking staff.
Meanwhile, the Senate of the University of Athens issued an announcement addressed to the President of Parliament Meimarakis and the Ministers of Education, Administrative Reform and Public Order, regarding the lack of security of the institution’s property, due to the suspension of all security guards.
The Senate notes that trespass and illegal activities are possibly taking place on university grounds and argues that the implementation of the suspension measure has resulted in the complete collapse of university security.
