While nothing is set in concrete yet, it appears that teachers will be going on 5-day rolling strikes that are to begin on the 16th of September, a few days after the new school year begins.
The local teacher unions (ELME) have been debating the subject and tend to be in favor of going on strike between the 16th and 20th of September. The final decision will be made on Monday, when the presidents of the 88 ELME unions will have a general assembly.
According to the ELME website, so far 49 local unions have voted in favor of the 5-day strikes. The union in Xanthe also voted on a 24-hour strike on the first day of the new school year, while the unions of Aetoloakarnania and Achaia voted on a 48-hour strike.
