Public sector employee union ADEDY has organized a walkout and protest for today, in response to the changes being implemented in education, healthcare, social insurance and local governing.
The walkout was announced to begin at 11am and is to last until the end of shift. A protest at Klafthmonos Square is scheduled to begin around noon.
The union is protesting against “the immediate and cold-blooded dismissal of 15,000 employees and the suspension-dismissal of 25,000 civil servants”, while expressing concerns over the viability of essential State services.
