Government publishes plans for “new ERT”

Government representative Simos Kedikoglou spoke t VIMA 99.5 FM about the dramatic developments surrounding the closure of ERT and announced that the new public broadcasting service will be on the air by the 29^th of August.

Mr. Kedikoglou also mentioned that the new broadcasting service will be staffed with 1000 to 1200 experienced employees. All of ERT’s employees will be dismissed, however Mr. Kedikoglou clarified that hard-working ERT employees will have priority treatment.

Regarding the disagreement with PASOK and DIMAR, the government representative claimed that both Evangelos Venizelos and Fotis Kouvelis were informed of the decision since last Sunday and expressed the hope that this will not affect the relationship of the three government parties.
