Paullina Nasioutzik, mother of 20-year-old Nikos Romanos who is accused of armed robbery in Kozani, spoke to Alpha TV and stated that she was proud her son “is fighting against a rotten society” and that she will defend him with her last drop of blood.
The 20-year-old’s mother expressed her feeling that “everything started” with the murder of Alexandros Grigoropoulos (a close friend of Nikos Romanos) by police officer Epaminondas Korkoneas in Exarchia, back in 2008. That event, according to Mrs. Nasioutzik, was critical in her son’s development.
Mrs. Nasioutzik denounced the brutalization of her son and the other three arrested by the police and maintains that they were “all beaten up in police head quarters, not during the clash, like the newspapers write”. When asked about the police’s claim that they were beaten during the clash with police because they were armed, Mrs. Nasioutzik retorted that the police “lied”.
