The Sleeping Female Figure (Koimomeni), Yannoulis Chalepas’ sculpture that covers Sophia Afentaki ’s grave at the First Cemetery of Athens, and was completed in 1877 will be transferred at National Gallery’s Glyptotheque.
Chalepas’ legendary sculpture is in an immediate need of preservation which demands its transportation and is in accordance with the artists’ hairs
A high standard replica will be installed in the original sculpture’s place.
