The Police suspect that a gang of racketeers may be behind the bomb attack against the home of a businessman on Thursday in Vouliagmeni. Based on the findings, it appears that two culprits arrived via motorcycle and threw a stick of dynamite outside the house. The explosion only caused minor damages to the house.
The 48-year-old businessman, who owns restaurants and night clubs, was in his home at the time of explosion. According to reports he does not appears to have had any trouble or involvement with the underworld and in a recent interview expressed his support the fight against tax evasion and fraud.
Given that a close relative of the 48-year-old is involved in local government, the police suspect that the attack could have also been an attempt to put pressure on him by creating a sense of insecurity.
