The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Melvut Cavusoglu is expected in Athens on Friday to discuss the refugee crisis, according to a report in Turkish daily Hurriyet.

Mr. Cavusoglu’s visit to Athens comes shortly before the critical European summit meeting in Brussels and amid negotiations over the NATO patrols in the Aegean, to which Turkish authorities are raising objections and causing delays.

Turkey has signed an agreement with the European Union to better protect its border and curb the flow of migration to Europe, in exchange for EU funding, however the Turkish resolve in this matter has been lackluster.
