A 31-year-old special police guard was reportedly shot in the area of Gazi at about 2am on Monday morning. According to reports the 31-year-old was off duty at the time.
The victim, who serves at the Keratea Police Department, was approached by another man who asked him his name. When the 31-year-old responded, the other man produced a pistol and shot in the left thigh.
The police guard was promptly taken to 401 military hospital for treatment. An investigation has been launched.
