Wednesday’s Euro Working Group teleconference concluded shortly after 17:30, however the talks between the institutions and Greece continued at the Greek delegation’s OECD offices, to carry on the Brussels Group talks from Saturday, which concluded at 19:00 without any agreement.

The Brussels Group talks continued as preparations were being made for Friday’s Eurogroup in Latvia. The Greek Finance Minister is expected to be under intense pressure from his Eurozone colleagues to commit to steps towards an agreement, in time for the Eurogroup of the 11th of May.

The General Secretary of Fiscal Policy Nikos Theoharakis, who participated in the teleconference and Brussels Group talks, told Mega Channel that there were still many policy differences that needed to be addressed, particularly in employment and the pension system. He added that there was not much time left and that a political decision is required to come to an agreement.

To Vima has been informed that the technical teams of the institutions that are in Athens have extended their trip by a day (they were meant to conclude on Wednesday) and continue to work with the Greek government.
