The police announced that it has resolved the disappearance and murder of an 82-year-old man in Argos, who was reported missing in June 2013.

The 82-year-old man’s car was discovered by a local resident in the remote area in Rito of Korinthia in early November, which prompted the police to investigate the victim’s telephone records. The records showed that on the day of his disappearance, the 82-year-old contacted a 25-year-old Bulgarian woman, who lived with her 27-year-old compatriot boyfriend in Chiliomodi.

According to the 27-year-old Bulgarian man, he walked in on the 82-year-old trying to have sex with his 25-year-old girlfriend and assaulted him and fatally struck him. The couple asked for the assistance of a 35-year-old Albanian man to dispose of the body in an unfinished building in the nearby area.

After setting fire to the 82-year-old’s body, they removed the license plates from the victim’s car and pushed it over a cliff in Rito, where it was found a few months later. The police are awaiting confirmation from the medical examiner that the bone fragments they have recovered belong to the victim.

The police have arrested the 27-year-old Bulgarian man and the 35-year-old Albanian accomplice, but were unable to locate the 25-year-old woman, who is thought to have returned to Bulgaria about two months ago.
