The Supreme Court Prosecutor Efterpi Goutzamani has ordered disciplinary action against the two prosecutors who participated in the prison councils that granted seven leaves to the recently-escaped 17 November member Christodoulos Xiros.

The two prosecutors are to face disciplinary charges of gross negligence in the performance of their duties. After the charges are pressed, the Supreme Court’s disciplinary council will determine their fate.

The disciplinary action has been brought against the two prosecutors because they granted him leave on seven occasions, even though Christodoulos Xiros had been implicated in various violent instances in prison.

Furthermore Xiros appears to have been free to move between his wing and the wing where the Conspiracy of Fire Cells suspects are being held. Additionally the prosecutors are charged for not investigating Xiros’ privileged treatment in prison in since 2012.
