Police and coast guard officers came across a grizzly sight, after discovering a body in advance decay, in a swamp at “Faros” in Avlida. The police and coast guard were informed by a local resident that a dog was seen clutching human remains.
After a brief search in the area the decomposing body of what appears to be a young man was found. The deceased was found in a prone position, with his arms tied behind his back and covered by cement blocks.
A forensic examiner and anthropologist from the Forensic Lab of the University of Athens will conduct an investigation of the scene of the crime, while the body is taken to lab for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
