The four people arrested for the double robbery of banks in Velvento are to be taken to the prosecutor and investigator of Kozani. Three of the four, Nikos Romanos, Andreas-Dimitris Bourzoukos and Giannis Mihailidis, have released a statement on an anarchist website, warning that “we will not cooperate, we will not repent”.

In their statement they clarify their intentions, claiming that “as anarchists, we consider the choice to rob a bank a conscious choice of resistance. Our motive had no personal gain. Our attack on the temples of capital is an aspect of our revolutionary action”.

Regarding the allegations of police brutality, they mention that “we never expected anything different from the enemies of freedom” and that “the signs of torture become yet another excuse to turn rage in action”. The three promise further, extensive statements regarding their case.

Their full announcement is as follows:

We take the time from the holding cells where we are kept prisoners to state our goals and intentions regarding recent events. As Anarchists we consider the choice to rob a bank a conscious choice of resistance. There was no personal gain behind out motives. Our attack on the temples of capital is an aspect of our revolutionary action. Regarding our torture by the suppression forces, we do not want it to become contribute to our victimization. We expected nothing different from the enemies of freedom. Let us not forget how many people have been crushed in police departments and their prisons. Let the signs of torture become yet another excuse to turn rage into action. Against the institutional representatives of justice, our stances will be implacable and uncompromising. We will not cooperate – we will not repent, Long Live Anarchy. The Anarchists, Nikos Romanos, Andreas-Dimitris Bourzoukos, Giannis Mihailidis.
