The newly-elected President of PASOK Fofi Gennimata met with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras at midday on Tuesday, following his meeting with the leader of the River Stavros Theodorakis. Mrs. Gennimata argued that the “progressive forces must demonstrate their diversity” and argued that the center left parties must rally together.

On her way out of the Prime Minister’s office, Mrs. Gennimata told journalist that “this is a critical hour that demands honest discussion [and a] new patriotism… PASOK will contribute towards this” and underlined that “the Prime Minister must boldly take decisions”.

The delays have a cost and a rupture is no solution, it is catastrophic for everyone, leads the country to isolation and impoverization” she added and explained that “we want an agreement that is based on reforms and not measures against the lower classes”.
