The main opposition party has slammed the coalition government over the outcome of Tuesday’s Eurogroup in Brussels, claiming it gave in to all demands while failing to secure anything.

In its statement New Democracy argues that the government failed to complete the bailout review in October and as such had to introduce additional austerity measures beyond the scope of the bailout agreement, such as the privatization ‘super fund’ and contingency mechanism.

New Democracy also underlined that the policy of raising existing taxes and introducing new indirect taxes will affect most Greeks, primarily those already experiencing problems. Finally, the main opposition party expressed its skepticism regarding debt relief.
