The police have ruled out the possibility of abduction in the case of a four-year-old child that went missing on Easter Sunday in Skaramangas and was subsequently found in Haidari the next day.

After being located on Monday, the young girl told the police that she wandered off from her grandfather’s junkyard chasing after a dog and was lost in the nearby forest. The four-year-old appears to have walked about 4 kilometers.

The girl’s statement appears to contradict the family, which suggested that someone may have abducted her on Sunday. The grandfather even hinted that he know who may have taken the child.

The parents of the child were detained and will face misdemeanor charges of exposing a child a danger. According to reports, the parents repeated their claims of abduction.
