Municipal services have been clearing up and preparing the E2 passenger terminal in the port of Piraeus as of Wednesday morning, after 450 migrants and refugees were moved from there to the E1 terminal and stone storehouse.

The E2 passenger terminal is being cleared up in preparation of the Easter holidays and May Day celebrations, as travel agencies expect a boost in tourism. Islands such as Paros, Syros, Myconos, Patmos, Tinos and Santorini are going to be particular busy.

Meanwhile, a total of 38 migrants and refugees arrived in Piraeus from the Aegean island, while 176 arrived on the Lesvos (84), Chios (79) and Samos (13). According to the latest official count there are 53,978 refugees in Greece at present.
