The Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has arranged a series of meetings ahead of the European summit on the refugee crisis, starting with the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker Wednesday.
PM Tsipras is aiming for the support of the European Commission and European Central Bank in order to complete the Greek bailout program review without delays.
The Greek leader is reportedly setting the 7th of March as a milestone, at which point the Eurogroup will debate the progress of negotiations. The controversial pension system reform and the return of the institutions to Athens are expected to be at the heart of Wednesday’s discussion.
On Thursday morning (11:00) the trilateral talks between Greece, Germany and Turkey on the refugee crisis will begin, while the broader discussion (which includes Turkey, 10 EU members and the president of the European Council) will begin an hour later.
Later on in the afternoon (at 15:45), PM Tsipras has arranged to meet with his Czech counterpart Bohuslav Sobotka. The European Council will convene at 4pm on Thursdsay and then against at 10am on Friday.
