On Monday dockworkers all over Greece will go on a 24-hour strike, in opposition to the sale of the majority stake of shares of the port authorities of Piraeus (OLP) and Thessaloniki (OLTH).

A dockworker rally has also been planned for 11:30 on Klafthmonos Square, followed by a march towards the main officers of the privatization fund TAIPED which is organizing the sale.

The protesters want the sale to be cancelled and to launch new talks between the government, regional and local government, political parties and industrial bodies.

Railroad unionists support strike

The unionists of the Panhellenic Federation of Railroad Workers (POS) will also join in the demonstration with a three-hour walk out between 12:00 and 15:00.

There will also be no metro services after 21:00, while a number of train services will be cancelled. Further information on services is available via telephone (14511) or online (www.trainose.gr)
