The first departure from Popular Union, the party recently formed by Panagiotis Lafazanis, was announced on Sunday, only a few days after the formation of the party.
In his statement the outgoing founding member in the party’s organization in Preveza Spyros Tatsis made serious allegations, claiming that the party is a “caricature” and full of “zealots who do not tolerate other views”.
Mr. Tatsis added that the new party was being built upon a part of SYRIZA, bring along with it the accompanying “players, mechanisms, fractions and other pleasant situations”, rather than making an open call.
He concluded his statement by stressing that there is always hope, which is “none other than social struggles, the steam engine of historical development”.
