The government spokesperson Olga Gerovasili did not rule out the possibility of a ‘divorce’ within SYRIZA, while underlining that it is not possible for two conflicting opinions to exist on a government level.

Mrs. Gerovasili, who appeared on Alpha 98.9 FM, explained that such a split would occur in the next general elections, but added that what is important is for the country to return to normality.

During her interview, the recently-appoint government spokesperson admitted that a split in SYRIZA may be inevitable, given the radically different opinions expressed.

Regarding the upcoming vote in Parliament on the second bill of prior actions required by Greece’s creditors for the third bailout, Mrs. Gerovasili predicted that there would be greater support than in last week’s vote.
