Dragasakis to meet with Hardouvelis ahead of Eurogroup

The Minister of Finances Gikas Hardouvelis [pictured left] is scheduled to meet with the head of SYRIZA’s financial program Yannis Dragasakis [pictured right] on Friday, in order to discuss public finances, ahead of the Eurogroup meeting scheduled for Monday.

Mr. Dragasakis is rumored to be appointed as Minister of Finances, provided that his party wins the critical general elections on Sundays. As such, he will inform Mr. Hardouvelis of his party’s intentions regarding the negotiations and legislative initiatives.

At Monday’s Eurogroup Mr. Hardouvelis is expected to stress the need of extending the Greek bailout program beyond the 28^th of February and to raise the limit of treasury bills which the Greek state can issue, from 15 billion to 20 billion euros.
