The coalition government is planning on submitting an amendment which will provide a 20% discount on the highly controversial “ENFIA” real estate tax for dwellings that are vacant and not connected to the power grid.

The decision came after a Monday afternoon meeting that took place at the Ministry of Finances. The amendment will be distributed amongst the MPs in Parliament on Tuesday, prior to being submitted for consideration.

The reduction came after property federation POMIDA called for immediate reduction of the tax, particularly for vacant properties. The Prime Minister also announced that «changes» would be soon be implemented, from the stand in Thessaloniki.
